Lithium hexafluorophosphate is an inorganic compound with the formula LiPF6. It is a white crystalline powder. It is used in commercial secondary batteries, an application that exploits its high solubility in nonpolar solvents. Specifically, solutions of lithium hexafluorophosphate in propylene carbonate and dimethoxyethane serve as an electrolyte in lithium batteries. This application also exploits the inertness of the hexafluorophosphate anion toward strong reducing agents, such as lithium metal.

生产方法
湿法该方法是将锂盐溶于无水氢氟酸中形成LiF·HF溶液,然后通入PF5气体进行反应生产六氟磷酸锂结晶。经分离,干燥得到产品。
用途
白色结晶或粉末,相对密度1.50。潮解性强;易溶于水、还溶于低浓度甲醇、乙醇、丙酮、碳酸酯类等有机溶剂。暴露空气中或加热时分解。暴露空气中或加热时六氟磷酸锂在空气中由于水蒸气的作用而迅速分解,放出PF5而产生白色烟雾。
